Keep it to yourself

Talking on speaker phone in the office
I like working in peace and I don’t think that’s a lot to ask for but when people nearby use the speaker phone it drives me up the wall. I do not want to hear your conversation with whoever is on the other side on the phone. I would like to do my work in peace and all that noise is really distracting and irritating. Just pick up the phone and talk to them without being a distraction to everybody else.

  1. Ahaha I dido that. People that do that are only seeking for attention so that others can hear that someone ACTUALLY called them for once. I don't understand how in the right mind they wouldn't think that that's annoying! I also hate when you’re working quietly and someone obviously def has their music blasting through their headphones and it ends up taking a while to build up the courage to tell them they need to visit their doctor to pick up some hearing aids.

  2. I completely agree Greg and Katie. I think the worst is when you are in an exam and there is someone making consistent noise with something. I always hated math exams because there was always clicking from 30+ student calculators in the room while you were trying to concentrate. I don’t know how people don’t realize they are making noise or being irritating. You are supposed to try to be super quite during exams. Maybe everyone is nervous and they don’t notice they are doing something repeatedly, either way it’s hard to concentrate and unnecessary to do out loud!
